First day of school - Parts 1 & 2

I've not been looking forward to this year since Bradlee started kindergarten.  We have kids going to three different schools.  Add a baby into the mix and we have a 4 way split.  It will stay that way until Avarie is in 9th & Bradlee in 12th in 2011-2012 and then we have a 4 way split again with Bradlee in college and Carsten in pre-school!!!

Bradlee started school bright and early last Tuesday.  She is a freshman at Rio Mesa this year.  Kevin drove her down to the bus stop around 7 am
.  Sorry I didn't get any pictures.  Maybe I'll take one on the first day of 6am seminary next Tuesday.  I'm usually up around 5 with Carsten anyway.  Luckily Kevin will drive her down to the church in the morning and then she will catch the bus at the community center by church to get to school and then a different bus will bring her back to Cam Heights in the afternoon.  The only
fluke is Thursdays, when school doesn't start until 9, so I have to pick her up from seminary and then she will hopefully ride the Cam Heights bus to school.

Micah started 3rd grade at Cam Heights on Wednesday.  She's excited about school and loves going.  She doesn't always get equally excited about homework though. (just laid the baby down so hopefully my arm will wake up again).  Micah walks to school which helps with the schedule.

Avarie doesn't start until next Wednesday.  I sent her to help her old teacher in kindergarten this week at Cam Heights.  I think she enjoyed herself and it gave her something to keep her busy in the mornings.  (and she can pass off some Faith in God requirements!)

Here's Micah on her first day...

Two Weeks Old

Carsten turns 2 weeks old tonight.  We're getting used to him being here.  I'm also feeling a little better every day.  It also helps that he's slept a solid 5 hours the last three nights.  Unfortunately, when I do get up to feed him, I turn on the olympics replay and a couple of nights ended up watching for a couple of hours.  I did better last night.  I just watched the end of History Detectives and then went back to bed.  Kevin or Bradlee take a turn with him in the morning so I get to sleep in after I feed him at 6, 7 & 8 o'clock.  I'm not looking forward to school starting.  Kevin goes back to work and Bradlee goes to girls camp next week so i'll be more on my own.

Anyway, here's some 2 week pictures.  Enjoy. -- Debbie

What's Micah Hiding?

What is she hiding?
Oh it is a funny hat I made her wear! Micah decided she wanted her hair dyed so I took out the kit and found this hat.And guess what, I made her wear it even though she didn't need to!
Well Micah is mad I had her
wear it for a whole three hours.
But she loved the outcome!
Doesn't our hair look awsome purple!

Well I did it! Rainey came over yesterday and dyed the bottom of my hair purple.I think it looks wonderful!-Bradlee

C-Section on Monday

Well, the doctor called back and is worried that Carsten is getting too big, so... we've decided to schedule a c-section on Monday.  I guess there are just a few problems when you have gestational diabetes, even though i've been sticking to my diet pretty well.  Carsten is still high also so it didin't look like he was going to come anytime soon.  My official due date was Aug 5 (Kevin's Birthday) but at my ultrasound with the specialist the date was coming out about a week before that so its definately time.

So were excited that we have a date set but i'm not really excited about having a c-section.  I guess its better than getting the baby stuck half way out though.  I'm sure everything will go well.

In the meantime, here's some pictures Rainey took.  I'll have Bradlee update this on Monday for ya'll.

Chunky Monkey

Hi everyone, I was hoping to have a baby by now, but I made it to my ultrasound appointment and guess what -- he's not coming anytime soon -- well at least not in the next couple of days.  Mostly the appointment was to see how big he was getting.  Well, he's getting big.  He measured over 9 lbs already (with some error possible).  If he doesn't come within a week after his due date I have to get induced.  So... hope Carsten decides to come soon.  In the meantime, here are some more cute pictures of chubby baby Carsten.

My Friends

I totally forgot to post these pictures I took with my friends on the Mac
.
It is so fun using all the cool effects on the computer. Can't wait to hang with you guys again!

The Waiting Game

I can't complain - well not too much.  Carsten cooperated through vacation and waited for Bradlee to get home from Utah before coming.  AND most important, he's finally turned head-down.  He was breach for quite a while.  At my appointment a week ago the Dr. said the C-Section word and I wasn't excited.  I thought he was still breach when I went this week but the Dr. did a quick exam and a 15 second Ultrasound and confirmed that his head is down.  YEAH !! I guess its his bum he's been pushing into my ribs all the time.  Dr. also did a quick exam and said he's not coming any time soon.

I've got at least 2 appointments every week now until he comes.  On Monday mornings I get a non-stress test, which is just listening to his heartbeat on the monitor for 20 minutes and seeing how much he moves.  (because of the gestational diabetes & because I'm AMA (Advanced Maternal Age).  Then a separate appt to see the doctor.  Then another appointment every other week to see the diabetes doctor.

If Carsten doesn't come by July 30 I have another ultrasound scheduled.  We get to check for size, etc.  I'm kind of hoping he comes before then.  I think the others have all been at least a week before the due date.  Although this due date is kind of iffy because I didn't find out I was pregnant until almost 1/2 way through.  I know -- you feel sorry for me because I missed the whole first trimester.

Bradlee is home !!  I have a shopping buddy again.  I still need to pick up a few things before the baby comes.  But no more clothes.  Thank you everyone at the shower & Marjorie for the box. They are really appreciated.

The girls are so excited they are having trouble waiting.

I'm Back! Almost.

After Aspen Grove we went to THE STADIUM OF FIRE! It was so cool! The Blue Men group and Miley Cyrus performed and were great. The fire works were spectacular. Although they were right above us so we were showered with soot.

That night we spent the night at my Aunt Marjorie's house. The next morning my family left me! I spent the weekend with Marjorie and my cutie cousin Ike. On Monday I went to EFY.

EFY was so great! It was an experience of a lifetime. We stayed in the dorms and had spiritual classes through out the week all based on the theme Steady and Sure. There were also two dances.

Right now I'm at my Aunt's house and will be leaving in the morning for the airport. Can't wait to get home!

Aspen Grove

We are in Utah for a week at Aspen Grove. It's only Tuesday and we've had a lot of fun already. Of course, I made everyone hang out in Salt Lake for a day so I could go to the Family History Library. I looked at tons of films and found NOTHING! At least I didn't have to pay to have the films sent to us. Here's our official picture. Not bad.

Micah was the only one who wanted to play the contest games Monday afternoon. She volunteered to be the person in the bucket getting water dumped on her while the team tried to block the holes and fill it. It didn't work so well because there were a lot of little people on the team but she had fun. The kids have all made friends and are having fun doing stuff without their parents.

Avarie turned 11 this year so was old enough to do the high ropes course. N0w if I could just remember not to turn my camera sideways when I have it in video mode the video would look impressive. It looks like she's crawling across a table. She has gone up a 20 foot log and then up a 12' rock wall to get to the base. From there they follow cables around a course through the trees and then rapell back down.

Here's some better pictures for everyone who doesn't want to sit through the sideways video.

Bradlee graduates from 8th grade

I'm ready to start posting summer pictures but I never got around to posting Bradlee's graduation. She finished 8th grade at Camarillo Academy of Progressive Education (CAPE) -- a new charter school in town. She had a great year and her graduation was fun.
